Ken credits his 30-year success as a dealership owner and operator to one thing: the team. He identifies the best employees in all categories — from sales and finance to service and lot porters — and empowers them to excel. Ken believes so strongly in this strategy that he named a dealership after it: Team Chevrolet Buick Hyundai, which grew into Team Superstores with the addition of several franchises and rooftops. When he sold Team in 2017, it was an extremely successful brand in volume, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Its involvement in the community was unparalleled, for which it received numerous awards at the city, county, and even state levels.
Ken’s wide-ranging dealership experience began in sales where he was consistently a top performer. As a lead-up to ownership, he proved his worth to General Motors by quickly turning an underperforming dealership into one of the top 10 in California. The first store that he owned was a Chevrolet dealership in Vallejo, California that was losing almost $500,000 a month. He eventually turned this into a 20-acre Auto Mall, adding Pontiac, Mazda, Cadillac and GMC franchises. He has also owned successful Chevy, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Saab, Hyundai, and Hummer dealerships in other parts of California.
