T. J. is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AACAP. Formerly a partner at the Wall Street law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shrive & Jacobson, T. J. has spent the last 20 years structuring and building out businesses, each with critical operating, financial and information management components. He has worked extensively in industries undergoing transformative changes such as solar energy development and renewable energy credit trading for Sunray Power Management; global securities borrowing/lending and proprietary trading at the Paloma Partners hedge fund; and the principal investment and investment banking activities in Asia for Lehman Brothers and Shinsei Bank. He has now committed himself to building out the AACAP platform and achieving a winning competitive position for its dealerships, which will provide good jobs for their workers, important support for their local communities, and exceptional returns for investors over the long term.
In addition to his operational track record, T. J. has extensive experience in financial and tax management and, starting in 2018, has worked on QOZ-related projects and businesses. He has lived throughout the U.S. and in Germany and Japan, and has worked out of London and Tokyo on a variety of projects in Asia. During five-plus years in the U.S. Army, he served as an armor officer in the First Infantry Division (Forward) and as the commander of a worldwide, intelligence-gathering, engineering activity. He is a distinguished graduate of West Point and was a University Fellow at Yale, where he earned an economics graduate degree. T. J. earned his law degree from The University of Chicago.
